We’re pleased to announce that Tribeca Film and Well Go USA Entertainment have teamed up again to co-acquire the North American rights to Scott Foley’s Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife. In addition to writing and directing this hilarious dark comedy, Foley stars opposite Amy Acker (Much Ado About Nothing), James Carpinello (Gangster Squad), Dagmara Dominczyk (The Immigrant), Marika Dominczyk (“Brothers & Sisters”), Donald Faison (“Scrubs”), Greg Grunberg (“Heroes”), Nicollette Sheridan (“Desperate Housewives”), and Patrick Wilson (Watchmen, The Conjuring).

What’s the furthest you’ve ever gone to help a friend escape a bad relationship? Ward’s friends hate Ward’s wife and want her dead—but it’s Ward who wants her out of his life most of all. When his friends’ murderous fantasies turn into an (accidental) reality, the group has to deal with a whole new set of problems — like how to dispose of the body and still make their 3 p.m. tee time.

The film, co-produced by Foley, Wilson, Carpinello’s Lost Rhino Films and Joe Hardesty, has been a pet project for all involved. Commenting on the film’s acquisition, Foley explains: “Patrick, James and I are thrilled that our passion project has garnered so much interest. Let’s Kill Ward’s Wife is a movie that we’re all very close to and we know that Tribeca Film and Well Go USA provide the perfect home for our film.”

The film will release on VOD platforms in December 2014, followed by a theatrical release in January 2015.

New Movie: ‘Ward’s Wife’

Deadline has some details on the Summer movie that Amy is filming this month; it’s not yet clear which character she’s playing, but the movie does reunite her with The Unit co-star, Scott Foley — they had previously filmed the original pilot together, before Amy’s role was recast — as well as Alias co-star, Greg Grunberg! It looks like Amy’s husband, James Carpinello, is starring in the film too, as well as being a producer.

Scott Foley and brother-in-law Patrick Wilson are teaming up to produce Ward’s Wife starring former Scrubs star Donald Faison. The Scandal and The Goodwin Games actor’s feature directorial debut will also be produced by Mob Doctor actor James Carpinello, and Marcus Chait for their and Wilson’s Lost Rhino banner. Joe Hardesty is also a producer on Ward’s Wife.

As the title suggests, the dark comedy focuses on Ward (Faison) a man who has just had enough of being emotionally and verbally beaten down by his spouse and decides to kill her to free himself. Written by the Felicity alum, Ward’s Wife also stars Foley’s real life sister-in-law and Wilson’s spouse Dagmara Dominczyk as Ward’s wife. Nicollette Sheridan will also be appearing in Ward’s Wife…

Foley, Insidious’ Wilson, Carpinello as well as Marika Dominczyk, Amy Acker and Greg Grunberg are also in the film. Ward’s Wife is scheduled to begin production in LA later this month.
