Thanks to Richard for the heads up: Fire & Ice: The Dragon Chronicles (2008) will finally be available on Region 1 DVD from November 23, 2010 according to Amazon & Wal-Mart — the TV movie was previously only available on Region 2.
As promised, over 1,000 HQ DVD screencaptures of The Dragon Chronicles (otherwise known as Fire and Ice) have now been added to the gallery; link and previews are below — while the movie isn’t a masterpiece by any means, although the direction (by Catwoman‘s Pitof) & cinematography is somewhat interesting, and seems to be well cast, it’s simply worth viewing alone for Amy. Happy viewing!
– Fire and Ice > DVD Screencaptures
I finally have my copy of The Dragon Chronicles (otherwise known as Fire and Ice) so I was able to make HQ DVD screencaptures of the ‘Making Of’ featurette that is available on the Region 2 DVD where there are some wonderful shots of Amy — screencaptures of the movie itself shall be added soon! Thus, over 190 screencaptures have been added to the gallery; link and previews are below, enjoy!
– Fire & Ice > DVD Extras: Making Of
Just a heads up that the Region 2 release of Dollhouse and Dragon Chronicles: Fire & Ice have been released today in the UK so be sure to order a copy if you haven’t done so already! I’m awaiting my copies in the post, once I get them, expect HQ DVD screencaptures to be added to the gallery!
SciFiCool is giving away 3 copies of the R2 version of Fire & Ice otherwise known as The Dragon Chronicles. Read on for the details!
Metrodome is releasing “Dragon Chronicles: Fire & Ice” on DVD September 7th, but instead of buying it, you can win a free DVD copy courtesy of SciFiCool.com and Metrodome, and who doesn’t like free stuff? We currently have three copies of the DVD to give away to three lucky winners, and all you have to do is follow the instructions below. You can follow instructions, can’t you?
Here’s how to enter: Send an email to email@example.com with the subject header: “Fire and Ice DVD Giveaway”. In the body, list at least two TV shows that Amy Acker has been on, either as a regular or as a recurring character (no one-shot appearances!). The giveaway will expire on September 11th, and three entrants will be chosen at random. We will then email the winners and ask for their snail mail address. And that’s about it. Pretty simple, right? Told you.
NOTE: The DVD will be in Region-2, so make sure your DVD player can play this format, or is region-free.
Be sure to visit the site as it contains a version of the trailer we’ve already seen (Amy scenes aren’t new) but with more footage of the dragons and it has a stunning title — I’ve added the new artwork to the gallery; a preview is to your right — and while it doesn’t feature Amy, I gotta say, it is stunning and makes me a little more excited for this release!
As previously reported, Fire & Ice is currently available on Region 2, but in Germany — well, there’s some good news!

£11.69 £9.98 — there’s no additional details just yet, but I’ll be sure to keep you guys posted!
Be sure to check back for HQ DVD screencaptures from Fire & Ice (and Dollhouse) in a few months’ time.
Amy’s TV movie, titled Fire and Ice, which was filmed in Romania alongside Tom Wisdom and John Rhys-Davies, has been released on region 2 DVD & Blu-Ray as a special edition — under the title of Fire & Ice – The Dragon Chronicles.
However, there is a catch, as it is only available to buy in Germany at Amazon.de and while it does include English audio, it only has German subtitling. Nevertheless, the sidebar has been updated in case you’d like to order a copy.
I shall keep you guys updated on a region 1 and/or general region 2 release when further information becomes available, though I wouldn’t hold out too much hope for this.
Fire and Ice premiered in Romania on January 2, and as a result, the official website has had a makeover, complete with updated information on the film and a wonderful gallery of production stills and behind the scenes images. I’ve added the Amy related images to the gallery; over 050 in all — there are some truly gorgeous shots of Amy! Gallery links and previews are below, enjoy!
With regards to the film title, it seems it is only being called Fire and Ice: The Dragon Chronicles in Romania, elsewhere, it is still being known as Fire and Ice. The official website also has a book and video game based on the film which is available to buy, for anyone who’s interested.
Amy Acker, who stars in SCI FI Channel’s upcoming original movie Fire and Ice, told SCI FI Wire that she got to realize a dream.
“I have always wanted to do any sort of period piece,” the Alias and Angel star said in an interview. “I love horseback riding. I got to be a tomboy princess and fight dragons.”
Helmed by visual-effects-supervisor-turned-director Pitof (Catwoman), Fire and Ice stars Acker as Luisa, a daddy’s-girl princess who must team up with a knight named Gabriel (300’s Tom Wisdom) to save their kingdom from a menacing fire-breathing dragon.
Joining Acker–who’s due next in Joss Whedon’s upcoming Fox SF series Dollhouse–are such familiar genre faces as Arnold Vosloo (The Mummy) and John Rhys-Davies (the Lord of the Rings trilogy).
“I couldn’t really think of anything bad about it,” Acker said. “It was great, and there were good people involved and a lot of British accents. It was fun to be the only girl with this group of guys and fighting along with them and doing all of that. I hope I get to work with all of them again. Maybe they can make it into a series!”
Acker added that she welcomed the change from series television. “It was [also] a chance to do something totally different from your normal television show,” she said. “The only thing that wasn’t real was the dragon, but luckily they had already drawn up what he was going to look like. I haven’t seen it finished, but [from] the pictures and early CG stuff they were doing it was this really cool dragon that looked different from any other dragon I’d ever seen. But it was easy to imagine it huge.”

The official website has posted a new version of the Fire and Ice trailer; while it contains nothing new in regards to Amy’s scenes, it is in widescreen format, and therefore better quality than previous versions. I’ve added over 030 captures to the gallery; link and previews are below, enjoy!
