Exciting news! It looks highly likely that Amy will be appearing in the upcoming second season of Person of Interest — you may remember she guest starred on the season finale, and was revealed to be a major character. Details [spoiler alert] are below!
The actress, introduced in the freshman season finale as the series’ mysterious hacker, will continue to work against Finch and Reese.
Fans looking for answers about Person of Interest’s cliffhanger finale at the CBS drama’s Comic-Con panel did not squeeze much out of creator Jonathan Nolan and showrunner Greg Plageman — but the duo were confident about bringing back a recent guest.
“We had a great experience with Amy Acker and we have big plans for her,” said Nolan, when asked if she would be reappearing in the sophomore season.
And that shouldn’t come as a huge shock. The Dollhouse and Happy Town actress made her first appearance in the May finale as a psychologist determined to be a potential crime victim by the Machine. It was later revealed that she was actually “Root,” the faceless hacker introduced earlier in the season. The episode left off with her killing Alicia (Elizabeth Marvel) and kidnapping Finch (Michael Emerson).
EDIT (July 24): Amy has confirmed on Twitter that she is back in New York City filming Person of Interest. So, stay tuned!
